THOUGHTS

I thought there would be less work in the garden this time of year.
No way so many dead leaves and brown dry areas.
Hidden weeds are now coming into view.

I thought I could look through my books and give away a bunch but I spent must of the day rereading them.  So many different writer have given me a rich variety of what it means to be a Christian and new thoughts about how to live a authentic life.

The study of Christian thought is a study of the spiritual as well as the intellectual thoughts by deep thinkers and philosophers of the day.  They are very important to the beliefs that we hold today as they put into words their thoughts and experiences that would rescue Christianity from being a superstition that is was in danger of becoming.

Jesus planted thoughts that would become seeds that promise new life as we learn to trust in God and live by faith.

Many have been inspired by the words and thoughts expressed in scripture.

Our individual thoughts motivate us to do what is right in considering others and doing unto them as we wish they would do unto us.

"Be still and listen in the silence of your own heart"

Have a thoughtful and peaceful Sunday!

I was laughing when I read about you trying to give away some books....because I too, have the same problem. I start to look through them and remember how much I enjoyed them. They are like "old friend" we don't want to part with aren't they? I have an old set of Books for Knowledge that date back to the 1930'S. I have fond memories of sitting with my Father looking through the books. There are 19 books in all and #20 is an index. How could I give those away?

How wonderful Ken will be visiting you when Larry has his surgery. The timing couldn't be better! I am sure everyone will be looking forward to seeing him.

The birds migration has started and in the next few days the Osprey's ( of which we have many....about six nests now in our area) will be leaving. The flying lessons from Mom are completed and they are ready to go. The hummingbirds too, will be leaving in the next week.
I saw the tree swallows staging on the wires....pretty sure they are gone already. They are so pretty...grey, white and blue and they have a liquid song.

Our minister is retiring in a couple of weeks. Her last service will be Sept 11 and there is a buffet supper to follow. We will miss her greatly at church, but she we remain living in our community.

Today is the Awards Presentation for the photgraphy contest. As a judge, I have to be there and give a little speech. I wasn't required to give a written critique, but would like to give a special award to the one child who entered that catagory. I will give them a written positive critique....and something else..I will talk to the organizer about it.

I see you are off to church this morning and then an event afterwards. What is it?

It will be another greeeeaaat day!

Love, Nancy
